V8 Supertourers - Ruapuna Dragway - Christchurch

This was the first time I’d been to Christchurch since the earthquakes. Unfortunately no time for photographs of the cardboard cathedral or rubble and rebuilds for me! This weekend was all about the action at the second round of the BNT V8 Supertourer championship.

It’s been about 3 years since I took photographs of live motorsport in action and back then it was all about the sideways style of NZ’s drift enthusiasts. I was thrilled to find myself pulling a couple of really technical shots. For this one though, I’d framed up the shot specifically and with Dom Storey in the I-Sport Racing Ford travelling at over 180kmph I was stoked to get this image.

Off the beaten track - South Island - New Zealand

Off the beaten track – what I hope will be a new series of travel photographs from the harder to access places.

This image was taken as we drove through Rainbow Road. The road is a toll road managed by Rainbow Station and is open from 26 December to 5 pm on Easter Monday. There is a $25 toll per 4WD vehicle. We used this as an alternative to travelling through Molesworth Station which had closed early due to bad weather.
